They work well and the important element is air movement to get the moisture out. It can be as simple as a PVC frame and clear plastic (green house type) and a fan to move the air.
My step son has done that at his small milling operation and has also used a shipping container with an wood stove to create the heat and it also disposes of cut offs and sawdust.
