Very cool project. Are the hull planks mahogany?

No, they used Douglas Fir plywood. Never measured but must be 12-16 lengths.

I am replacing it with Okume plywood. Don’t like the look of the DF plywood we get today. When it comes to marine plywood the imported panels are FAR superior to American made plywood. The one I prefer is made in Israel of all places.

The Century Raven was planked with Mahogany. I think they sometimes had issues with t planks splitting along the edge from all the nails? May be mistaken. I looked seriously at one before I bought this one. But they had a Ford engine with two Carter YH side draft carbs. Bugger to keep them working right.

The Carter YH carbs that is. Not because it was a Ford.
