I don’t have that one, but any of the 6” dual mode sanders will take off some material quick if you get down on them, plus with mine I’ve found the grit, and type of paper you use will go a long way to calming the beast within, and DO NOT run it on high, turbo, whatever they call the higher range. Unless of course you want to scour that wood down. It will do that.

I’ve found that Abranet softens the effect in the low range, but I still have an army of 5” ROS to do the light work.

The abranet if you’ve not used it is much better with dust collection. With it the discs themselves work better, and wear much better than paper or cloth backed paper. It’s a mesh, and the dust goes right through and doesn’t load up the paper, Because it isn’t full of junk, it works better. Grits from 80 to 1000. I usually stay at the higher grits. I’ve got a planer if I want to take off material :-)

Try some, but for gentle you’ll probably still need a lighter 5” ROS.
