I only have experience with one local saw mill. He doesnt typically carry figured wood since he’s retired and just using the mill as extra income. If he does happen to get some figured lumber he planes at least one side so you can see it. Maybe that isn’t typical but I’m of the mindset if you’re selling figured lumber I should be able to see it when I get there.
