Yeah, that’s even quicker to plane off than if it was the thickness. And it’s exactly the kind of thing I do when dovetailing boxes. I’ll leave things just a smidge oversized until I have the dovetails marked, cut, and glued up, and then I’ll go along the edges of the box with a block plane to get the sides to align perfectly. It lets me “jiggle” the position of the dovetails a little to avoid flaws in the wood. -- Dave - Santa Fe |
