+1 Question the integrity.
Make note on sales contract of the age, let the inspector find the pinholes (if they even bother), and let new owner decide it’s fate.

IMHO – If you buried it galvanized metal structure 30 years ago, didn’t coat/seal outside and properly channel water away from exterior; then you are already past the life expectancy of 15 years for simple galvanized coated steel in ground contact.
If the outside was sealed and has proper drainage; then pin holes might be due interior condensation and interior sealing could extend the usable lifespan.
