Found out that a motor with the electric input on the right side is not available – so I am having mine rewound – and hopefully it will give me another 35 years. Of course, at 67 years old I’m not likely to be around 35 years from now! My electric company researched for two days and did not find a motor suitable, which surprised me. No, on a one phase motor they cannot be turned around – three phase can. That is – the whole motor can be turned around in the case and the drive come out the other end. Not on a single phase. It’s not the direction of rotation that is the problem, it is that the electric cable and the overheat switch are on the wrong side. Leeson does not make a motor with that configuration and apparently no one else makes a single phase motor like it either.

My JTS10 is a 35 year old Jet construction grade 10” table saw. I decided that I was better off fixing the motor than trying to play with the mount and screw up something else!
