You not only need the CNC but jigs, fixturing, bits, coolant (metal), sound and chip suppression, etc. What exactly you need is up to you to figure out based on what you’re trying to do.

Asking for help in what you “want to do” would be aided by explaining exactly what you want to do besides make some $$$ & keeping your family fed.

Figuring out how to hold the workpiece so the gantry/head doesn’t crash into hold downs is the fun part of the game.

Cut path usually is dependent on drawing order and sections may have to be redrawn to get the sequence right.

Tool path compensation is another issue as a 2” ID cut and a 2” OD cut are different and vary with cutter diameter.

Each must follow their own path: such is the tao of CNC.
