Is it an Induction top, like this one if it’s not an induction top then you should not cover it with any combustible product until it’s cooled.

If you’re thinking of a noodle board, I make them and have it printed on my invoice that the purchaser holds the sole responsibility to ensure that the range is completely cooled before placing the board on the surface. When the induction stoves first came out I would demonstrate them by cooking an item with a $100 bill between the range-top & a saute pan because they do not create any heat.
