Rubber, latex, etc will damage many finishes. I set something that had stick-on rubber feet down on a platter I’d finished with lacquer and it left marks after a few hours.

I’m not sure the best way to clean the pen, but I’d definitely add “no rubber grips” to my list of ways to care for the pens you sell.
