Sadly another thing is my yellow Lab is getting to old to venture far from home. So I stay close to home for her. I m going to miss her when she s gone and I think it s going to be several years before I replace her. She ll be the 4th dog I ve had to put down and I really don t want to deal with that again.

I think I would be “lost” without a dog. I too have had a number great companions. My elderly mother and an uncle both said what you are saying and added they were concerned about out living a new dog. Both lived long enough to have outlived a new dog so they went through all those “extra” years with one one. Makes me sad to think of not having a dog….just make sure you know someone who will take care of it if you check out first.
