I do have a question about what the leather will be doing. Is it just a surface cover like the bottom of a drawer or table top or is it intended to be mechanical as in a leather hinge? If it is the latter I would consider a urethane glue like Gorilla glue. With this glue you do need to clamp it firmly until it cures because it tends to foam up if not clamped.
