There are several brands of low viscosity “Penetrating” epoxy designed for….uh penetrating wood. Sailors would fix bulkheads and other wooden areas where wood has rotted with penetrating epoxy with pretty good results. I’m not sure how deep it’ll penetrate new would except for perhaps a little on the endgrain. Easy to find online or at a boat store. Not cheap. That said, I don’t believe any epoxies are as thin as water?
