An old post, but I recently bought the makita 2012 and am happy with it. It has two blades as opposed to dewalts three, but they are double edged, so you can flip them and carry on; whereas the dewalts are not. The anti-snipe feature on the makita does what its supposed to, and of all the machines in this range, the makita is the quietest db-wise. You almost, almost, dont need to wear hearing protection.
