I think this is a lot money for a used saw, but I think this saw is meant to be a lifetime saw that you pass down.

Thinking about a fairly new technology machine, especially one including critical electronics, being a “lifetime saw that you pass down” is a bit of a risk… Technology is likely to advance significantly (and their specific implementation may not survive the patent expiration), rendering the ability to replace the critical part into the next generation (of family, not of equipment) highly questionable.

Old machines remain viable for a long time only because the technology is simple, robust, and not related to electronics.

If you wish to leave this saw to the next generation, be prepared to stockpile multiple cartridges.
