The bolt to the chipbreaker can be replaced by a cheaper plane. Buying parts would possibly cost more than the plane itself. As for the lateral adjustment you can still use a hammer to adjust it. Not necessary to fix that part.

You can find parts in ebay but very few sellers know which part to which plane. It is a gamble there.
