Define “pop” the grain. If you mean add chatoyance, without some amber, the only thing Im aware of is SW CAB acrylic lacquer. Not very good durability for your application. Im sure there are other finishes, but they will be solvent based, spray application, and a lot of voc’s. Might be some industrial type polyester or vinyl finishes. No waterbased product will provide chatoyance. If thats ok, Target EM9000 is a water clear wb poly, and for that application get the crosslinker as well which adds durability. Platina shellac will create chatoyance, but will add slight amber. Could be use under a wb finish. |
