Mostly you will see the ambering on the Maple. Enduro-var will be less than an Oil, but still there will be some. However if there is much grain to see on the Zebra, or Walnut, heck even the Maple, it will pop it somewhat. A full on oil will do better for POP, and a thin coat of a very clear shellac will hardly amber at all, but it won’t pop much either.

This has been my experience. Hoping someone has one of these newer finishes that pops like crazy, and doesn’t amber. I want some too. So far it’s been one or the other as far as I’ve noticed.
