As noted in the previous post, the lead screw on the bit on the right side of the photo has become blunt (broken or possibly dropped at some point…?) While an auger file would be the most ideal, even a small triangular file will work to sharpen your bits. Hold them with the lead screw on a scrap block of wood and angled away from you. File the flat cutting edges at the base. Don’t touch the “ears”, unless they are VERY dull. In which case, a LIGHT filing on the INSIDE of the ears will be all that is needed. NEVER X 3, file the OUTSIDE edges of ANY bit. this will not only decrease the boring diameter, it will ruin the bit.
BTW, your bits aren’t so bad. I’ve seen them in FAR worse condition. After some “elbow grease” they have been put back into service again.
