I would work the backs on the bandsaw, and the seat parts before glue up on the bandsaw as well and clean up with a small plane or spoke shave. Other methods of chipping out the waste with a power tool of sorts will be messy in the extreme.

+1 id say the bandsaw would be the easiest,if you have one, otherwise robs method will get it done.
