I bought a Grizzly G0858 8” jointer late last year and recommend it highly. It has a helical carbide cutter head and parallelogram tables. Its tables were very straight and parallel out of the crate. The unit comes almost completely assembled and is manageable to get out of its crate and set up on your own. It is somewhat mobile, as it has wheels, but is heavy to move. It is a very solid jointer that cuts extremely well. Dust collection is very good on it.

I was a little concerned with the lever adjustment, but it is very manageable for even small changes in cut depth. I see the Powermatic 60HH has that as well.

I’ve been very pleased with it so far. You may want to consider it.

Grizzly occasionally offers 10% off coupons. I found someone offering one here on Lumberjocks and was able to use it to reduce the price further. Grizzly also shipped it via UPS Freight. I’ve had two pieces of shop equipment delivered by UPS Freight and both drivers were very helpful in using their pallet jacks to get the tools into my shop. I strongly recommend making sure you have a clear path from the driveway to where you want it deposited so you can get it all the way there with the driver’s help. I spent a few hours clearing a path through the snow and cut a small ramp out of a 2×4 so the pallet jack could make the 1 inch jump to my shop from my driveway.

FWIW, Woodworker’s Journal reviewed 8” jointers in their April 2015 issue. WOOD Magazine reviewed them in their May 2016 issue. Neither review included Powermatic. Not sure why.
