No problem using center guide with inset. Everything just gets moved back. If I wanted to use a wooden guide, I would do loose c channel with a tilt rail. No need to split bottom. If design allows, put pull close to or centered.

The bigger issue is this- when it’s 3 in the morning and your trying to open that drawer full of diapers, wipes, lotion, etc while holding a crying baby wishing you used blumotion you could open fully with your pinky toe. :)

I like center glides for most furniture. Most applications if done properly work really well.

This particular situation screams undermounts.

I have no idea what “loose c channel with a tilt rail” means. Do you have a picture?
