You can have too little backpressure, but that’s unlikely with your blower. I’m guessing that blower has a 12” impeller…and a 3 HP motor is plenty big for that size impeller. If you have “too little” backpressure, the blower tries to move more air, and loads the motor more. Checking the amp load on the blower is a good idea to see if it’s overloading. You will have the same effect bu letting too much air through the inlet. But I doubt any of this will be a problem for you with that unit.
