I agree. I moved from San Diego to DFW a couple of years ago and I was shocked how both areas have such a terrible second hand power tool market.

to the OP – If you’re a beginner, I’d get something with a riving knife.


If San Diego is like Dallas the Craigslist pickings are slim when it comes to tools.
Having said that my first saw was a variant of the 113.
I would recommend not buying it.
The stamped steel extensions are not flat, the middle section of them is about 1/8” lower than the perimeter and it s a complete pain in the rear.
The rip fence is terrible, I had to check it for parallelism every time I moved it.
