One of the faults in the HF lathe design is the on/off switch is positioned so that sawdust gets inside, causing the switch to not work. Unplug, remove the mounting screws, and disassemble the switch. When reinstalling, put a flap of clear plastic under the upper screw to deflect sawdust – an easy DIY fix!
