My 2 cents- spend just a few more dollars and make the faceframes from maple. Poplar takes paint nice but it’s too soft. Every time a hairbrush, curling iron, blow dryer, etc hits the corners of the frame on its way in and out of a drawer, it will dent and Marr it up. Maple will take more abuse, paints up nice and smooth, and won’t cost a ton more for the amount needed to make a faceframe
