I can t answer your question directly, but I have a couple of comments. First, I inspected the Jet 12” combo at my local dealer s showroom. I was not overly impressed. The machine seemed a little rough and the change-over was not as smooth as I would have liked. While I was thinking about it, I was offered a little-used Hammer A3-31 12” jointer planer for a great price. I jumped on it. The Hammer is a serious machine, very well built with plenty of power and it operates like a dream. In my view there was no comparison between the Hammer and the Jet. The Hammer wins hands down.

I have the Jet and I can’t see how the changeover could be easier? Pop the 2 latches grab the handle and lift, flip the dust chute and crank up the platen, easy peasy. For a manual changeover how could it be easier? My only complaint is the tables could be longer for me.

-- I always knew gun nuts where afraid of something, just never thought popcorn was on the list.
