Just needs lubrication. Dry lube, paraffin wax, etc… stay away from grease or any wet lube that will attract sawdust.

I went thru this with my saw, could not get the grinding squeeling to quit tried every dry lube out there. Didnt last more than a week,so I finally greased the sector and worm, been good for months now with no problems. SawStop actually recommends greasing the said parts every 6 months, the sawdust seems to get wiped away and is alot softer than the cast iron and wont hurt anything.

Taken from sawstop manual.

Elevation and Tilt Mechanisms:
The elevation and tilt gearing should be kept clean and well lubricated. Periodically check the condition of the
elevation miter gears and threaded shaft, and the tilt worm gear and sector gear. If necessary, clean off any dust, dirt, pitch or other debris using a wire brush, and then reapply a good quality, non-hardening grease.
