Thanks Kenny. That makes sense. My thought in including the plywood was that it would get me closer to the ground. One of the machines is a Drill Press, and I had thought to put it closer to the ground since it’s top-heavy. For other machines I don’t know if there is a benefit, though. Does it make it less liable to slide it the center of gravity is lower? (I have double locking, 3” poly casters I’ll use, and I haven’t had a need to have any of my shop casters be very still—the consumer stands all are the ones’ that rest on rubber feet and are lifted up by pedal). I have no clue.

But…my stupid question of the day is what size screws? Does it actually need something like a 1/4 or larger thread?

Congrats on taking down UVa this weekend. We have a kid at our office from UVa. Nice kid, but sort of insufferable. Watching his misery in the wake of that game was schadenfreude. Cruel, I know, but it was entertaining to rib him about UVa’s basketball and football mishaps.
