When you think about passing down tools, think “hand tools”, hand tools are never obsolete. Just look at the number of LJ’s who use old hand planes and chisels daily. Power tools become obsolete with every advance in technology. Do you still use your Dads corded drill, router? Probably not, but you may well have and use one of his hand planes.
