I’ve been using Deft lacquer since the 1960s. The “brushing lacquer” and spray can lacquer are the same. NOW one caution —— Due to ever tightening government regulations Deft does produce a water based lacquer. In my opinion this stuff isn’t nearly as good as the original lacquer. I don’t think it’s compatible with the real lacquer but I could be wrong. Of course living in Southern California I can’t even buy the Deft brushing lacquer anymore so I have to stick to using the spray cans for my lacquer finishes.
