I’ve used black Transtint dyes and it seems to work fine. Not sure if that is recommended or not but it worked. They are a little pricey but it only takes a drop or two. I have also used fine copper and brass dust but it takes a lot before you get the look of actual metal. Another option is to put a dry filler into the cracks and drip CA over it. I actually like that better than epoxy with coarse materials like turquoise sand, especially in voids like worm holes. Note: Once you put something like stone in, don’t use your turning tools.
