For a band saw box, I would probably use a 1/8” blade, for intricate work .. I use 3/4” stock on all my small boxes. my 5”x5 1/2” have mitered corners and my 7”x9” & 7”x11” have locking mitered corners. I currently have on my staining bench 5 of my 7”x9” red oak boxes. And on my work bench 5 of my 6 1/2”x7” mahogany w/pine corner posts. The first picture is a memorial box from a year ago.

This is a 16”x16”x24” paneled pine toy box w/a aromatic cedar lid. This one I made recently.
