Whether it’s worth $700 and whether it’s worth an upgrade are two different questions.

1) Is it worth $700?

Could be. But that depends on age, condition, whether the accessories are included, and what your general market looks like. I can say that for Western PA, that would be on the mid to low end of the range for cabinet saws.

2) Is it worth the upgrade?

That all depends on why you’re thinking of upgrading. Power/torque is only one small piece of the puzzle. Better fence, less vibration, better dust collection, smaller footprint, cabinet mounted trunions…these are all reasons people buy/upgrade to a cabinet saw over a contractor. They’re also true whether it’s 2hp or 3-phase 7.5 hp.
