The General saw I’m dead sure has a better fence. I used to own a 3650. Getting the fence locked in parallel with the blade and miter slots is quite difficult, since it’s not a t-square fence system. It locks in the front and rear, and it can easily work itself out of parallel seemingly on its own.

That said, $700 is a lot for a relatively dated saw. I’d probably keep looking unless it comes with some compelling extras, such as top-quality blades, a router extension, or something else like that.
