Question: do you hold the handle or the arm when using?

Well, I’ve only used it to make two cuts, but I should use the handle for better control, I think. But starting a cut, it’s awfully tempting to grab the arm.

My understanding is that by holding the handle, and extending your index finger along the side of it, you’re more in control of all the angles involved, and can rotate the handle to turn your cut. Basically the same grip as a gents saw.

That said, I made the handles from a scrap of ziricote I had laying around, and if they don’t work out, I’ll make new ones. I plan to order some spare pins from Gramercy Tools so I can experiment with handles, too.
