In my area, any working 8 inch jointer =<$500 would be sold in less than a day. They are not listed as often as 6 inch versions, and every one wants to buy larger versions.
If you want it, stop reading forum and go make an offer.

agreed – I paid $350 for a used Delta 6” last year, and that was as good a deal as I was able to find in my area. $500 for an 8” seems very reasonable.
