I tried Polyshades Twice. The First Time and the Last Time. Luckily it was just a Birdhouse and didn’t matter.

Mine was a Brand new Can. It didn’t go on well (Color Blend, & I mixed it WELL} Took to long to dry and looked like Shat when it did.

I went back to Minwax Oil Based Stain Brushed on WELL and Worked in. Usually an overnight dry, then one or two Coats of Water Based Poly (Brushed On or you can wipe it on). StIR ONLY. If you shake that water based Poly you’ll end up with a Vanilla Milkshake! (Bubbles).

If you want to Paint It, sure, BUT, Make sure the Ugly ..lol.. Stain is DRY! You can wipe it down with Mineral Spirits to take off the Stain Faster and it will dry Quicker.
