Looks good.
I had watched Stuarts video years ago and even have some cutoffs in a bucket which I have never got around to trying. His stock appears to be much small (in relation to his 1/2” round skew?) and he leads with the short point.
Maybe leading with the short point puts more support behind the petal to turn it up resulting in longer petals. I assume the lathe speed and feed rate will also play an important part.
