I hope you’ve figured this out by now, but in case you haven’t, there is a belt on these saws. It’s a very short serpentine style belt that connects the blade arbor and the motor pulley. You have to remove the front cover, then take the three screws out of the blade arbor assembly to change the belt. There is no tensioner either, it’s tensioned by the distance and belt length. I did the same thing on mine not too long after I got it and had Delta send me a new belt, then I replaced it myself. It’s really not too bad of a job at all. Just don’t break the small bolts!!!
