Okay, so the rabbets won’t be there during the glueup phase, OK I follow now.
Yeah I wouldn’t do it that way. Just glue boards together face-to-face to get your required thickness. This will give you a solid leg. Then cut the joinery afterwords.

If you make the parts a little oversize, you can re-joint things straight and square after glueup.
