The on line version, as you noted, is woefully inadequate for the typical Sketchup user. Trimble promises to keep working on it but I wonder how many people will become disillusioned and go back to the earlier Make version.

It only took me about 15 minutes to become disillusioned. The web version IS handy if you want to pull up a sketch while away from home to show someone the model and perhaps make very minor tweaks but they didn’t make it compatible with mobile browsers like the iPad so if you are going to have to lug you laptop with you anyway to do that, you might as well use the the desktop version. If I was not already comfortable using Sketchup and just now learning a tool, I would just go with Fusion 360.
