Since I see the Forrest and Ridge Carbide as comparable quality, the Ridge would represent better value than the Forrest due to it’s lower price. They also tend to offer larger chunks of carbide.

IMO the DW is not on quite par with the dado sets from makers like Forrest, R/C, Infinity, but is surprisingly good …good nuff for the vast majority of dado operations and cost a lot less.

One of the problems when comparing dado sets is just the sheer cost, so most of us end up relying on reviews or extrapolation based on experience with other blades from the same manufacturer, which is certainly not the most accurate method of evaluation.

I agree that it can cost double to get that last 5-10% of excellence, which may or may not be worth it when you consider that most dados are hidden.
