Bumpy,

The filtering is another difference between the Grizzly and the CV1800. The Grizzly offers 113 sf of filter area and the CV1800 offers 300 sf of filter area.

The CV Bundle does not include a dust collection barrel whereas the Grizzly includes a steel drum.

The CV1800 is loud and some noise abatement measures are needed if noise is a problem. The Grizzly is also loud, but is probably quieter than CV1800.

It may also be worthwhile to compare the fan performance curves of the two machines. At static pressure of 10”, the CV1800 seems to have the edge; CV1800 about 1200 cfm at 10” and the Grizzly about 1000 cfm at 10”. I found the Grizzly fan performance curve on page 33 of their manual (on-line). The CV fan performance curves, accompanied by some discussion including from Bill Pentz, is found in a link embedded in post #1 at http://www.clearvuecyclones.com/forum/forum/clearvue-cyclones/product-questions/1082-cv1800-fan-curve

For what it is worth, I have the CV1800 and am happy with the machine.
