How old is the Watco? I used Watco for years and noticed a change after RPM acquired them 7/26/2006

Today I use General Finishes, more or less feeling about Watco as you are about Minwax. Enduro Pre Cat

I am not a scientist, but am led to believe it’s all about the size of the polymer particles, smaller = better. Minwax is huge particles, Watco less so, GF = very tiny. Along the differences is also a higher price point for the smaller particles. Old Watco used to be much smaller than new.

Now you can pad, or brush on the pre-cat, but it truly shines when sprayed, especially on larger areas. You will find the more fuss in application, the finer the application as well. Finishing is just a bunch of baby steps, then all of a sudden you are running. Enjoy the journey, and ALWAYS do tests with scrap first, they are illuminating.
