I looked up that jointer and it’s also made by a Toro. The bearings are the least of your troubles the knife gib parts are very similar to the ones craftsman used.
Not a great design in my opinion
Your knife shouldn’t be thicker then the gibs. The gibs are held by two screws that wedge the knifes in the knife pockets. I think your gibs are not original.
I’m confidant the knifes shouldnt be more than 1/8 thick.
