Bill – They did offer a version of the same diesel back in 2008. It was very good, but at the time it was only offered with the “limited” package or something like that, so you couldn’t get it unless you spent $40,000+ (from what I remember). They didn’t sell many, but it’s still talked about as one of the best GC’s ever offered. I’m hoping they don’t make the same mistake this time. That said, this version of the engine, with today’s technology, makes something like 75lbs more torque than the old one. With the characteristcis of diesels, there shouldn’t be anywhere near the drop when towing that you’re seeing. I’d be willing to bet that you’d get 18/25 city/highway when towing..
