My memory was foggy on my original post. You can see here that I did NOT tie the cord around the spokes in the spool, but just around the cylinder part of the spool.

Yes, the pig tail flops around a bit when winding and unwinding. Just need to keep your face away, and keep it from getting caught in the gap between the frame and spool.

I have about 150 feet of 14 gauge cord on it. I’ve never had any problems with it getting hot, because the stuff I plug into it are light loads with a low duty cycle. But, Sylvain is 100% correct.
