I covered my 6” inlet pipe with flexible insulation, made for HVAC systems. I insulated the first 5 feet from the dust collector, and it seemed to help quite a bit. It’s available at the big box stores in both 6” and 8” diameter, and costs under 10 bucks.

The link you posted looks pretty good too. I think it’s worth a shot.
