Rabbets, glue and a few air nails is the easiest, imo,
for a cabinet maker class of drawer box. These
boxes hold up well with ball bearing slides.

If using “self closing” drawer slides, cheap center
mount slides or wood-on-wood action you might
want to consider a drawer-lock joint, dowels,
biscuits or even dovetails.

That said I’ve seen nailed carpenter-style drawers
hold up well with 3/4” sides sliding on wood web
frames, even in kitchens. The action isn’t smooth
though and as the drawers wear they bind.
